Lori Hellis has been a family and criminal defense lawyer since 1992. It’s safe to say she’s seen it all. Maintaining equilibrium and a sense of humor is crucial when navigating the minefields of divorce. Lori has represented hundreds of divorce clients during some of the most challenging times in their lives.
Lori holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Portland in Portland, Oregon, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She holds a Doctor of Law degree from Lewis and Clark Northwestern School of Law in Portland, Oregon, and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Oregon State University. She recently retired from law practice to devote time to writing.

Lori was also a fierce public defender who represented both adults and juveniles in criminal matters; she served 20 years in the Air National Guard and has been a passionate advocate for children, victims of domestic violence, and veterans.
Lori lives in Mesa, Arizona, with her husband, two dogs, and three cats. She is a podcast junkie and a maker of quilts. She has one adult daughter who has always seemed proud her mother wore combat boots.
